Music Makers After School combines online lessons with live performance.
Three different programs focus on different areas of music development:
I. Elements of Music and Song: In this program, students will learn the different elements that go into a song including melody, rhythm, and tempo. They will study how different classical composers used these elements. For the live performance, they will sing songs that illustrate concepts learned.
II. Composing Music:* In this program, students will learn to read music and utilize the different song elements to compose their own works. The live performance will include performances of students' own pieces as well as singing of songs that illustrate concepts learned.
III. Developing Music Compositions:* In this program, students will learn how to add harmony and lyrics to their music. The live performance will include performances of students' own pieces as well as singing of songs that illustrate concepts learned.
While intended to be taught sequentially, each program is designed to be appropriate for first-time Music Maker attendees.
